Need your subject without the background? Connect an image, hit Generate, and Remove Background does the cutting for you. Pick from several models, including the new Leonardo.ai model, to get the cleanest result for your image.
What makes it useful?
One click, clean cutout → connect an image and generate, no manual editing needed
Your choice of model → pick between Fluidfit.ai RBG1, RBG2, and RBG3, Remove.bg, and the new Leonardo.ai
Know the cost first → the credits show right on the Generate button before you run
Mask on request → turn on Generate Mask when you need one
How to use it
Open the Tools section in the sidebar and find Remove Background under AI Edit.
Add it to your canvas and connect your image to it.
Open the node's options and choose a model.
Click Generate.
Your result appears on the right, ready to connect to the next step in your flow.
Choose your model
Open the node's options to see the models you can use. Click one to select it. The selected model has a highlighted border. Looking for a specific one? Use the Search box at the top.
Fluidfit.ai RBG1, RBG2, and RBG3: our own Remove Background models
Leonardo.ai: the newest addition, and one of our recommended options
Remove.bg: still available for now, but leaving soon (see below)
Click Reset to default at the bottom of the options and you're back to the starting settings.
Generate Mask
At the top of the options, you'll find the Generate Mask toggle and additional settings around it. It's off by default. Turn it on when you want a mask generated.
Heads up: Remove.bg is leaving soon
The Remove.bg model now carries a Leaving Soon badge. It will be retired on 1st Dec 2026, so now is a good time to start moving your flows to another model.
Leonardo.ai and RBG3 are better alternatives, and switching takes just a click in the node's options.
Also worth knowing: the RBG4 model is no longer available and has been fully deprecated.
Using Remove Background with the API
Prefer to work outside the canvas?
You can use Remove Background through the API too. It handles several images in a single call, lets you choose the model, and supports optional mask generation. Head over to the Remove Background API documentation to see how it works.
A few things to keep in mind
Every run uses credits. The amount is shown on the Generate button.
Models with a New or Leaving Soon badge are marked right in the list, so you can see their status at a glance.
If you have flows that use Remove.bg, update them to another model before 1st Dec 2026.
In short
Remove Background gives you a clean cutout in one click, with a choice of models to match your image. Try the new Leonardo.ai model, and if you're still on Remove.bg, switch to Leonardo.ai or RBG3 before it retires on 1st Dec 2026.
